Best Restaurants -(French)
Au Jardin Les Amis
(Restaurants - French)
1 Cluny Rd
Singapore 259569
65 6466 8812
Description:
Since opening in 1998, Au Jardin Les Amis has won a copious number of awards. The Botanic Gardens' fine restaurant is housed in one of Singapore's famous 1920s black and white bungalows; the bar downstairs is a classy place for a drink, and the dining room upstairs has glass-enclosed balconies overlooking the lovely landscaping. Dinner guests may choose from a nine-course degustation menu, four-course table d'hote menu, or an a la carte menu. Each is populated by dishes such as Wagyu beef, Maine lobster, Bresse chicken, and Australian Black Berkshire pork. Desserts are not to be missed if you're a chocolate fanatic, the Guanaja chocolate moelleux with pistachio ice cream is unbeatable.

Cliff Restaurant
(Restaurants - French)
2 Bukit Manis Rd
Singapore 099891
65 6275 0331
Description:
An elegant al fresco restaurant with commanding beach views from its perch on Sentosa Island. The modern French dishes are inventive but simple, with a distinct bias toward seafood the oyster selection alone takes up two pages of the menu although there are also options for fish-phobes. To really impress, opt for the seafood platter for two, a smorgasbord of freshly shucked oysters and seasonal seafood with a mouthwatering range of dipping sauces.

Club Chinois
(Restaurants - French)
1 Tanglin Rd
Singapore 247905
65 6834 0660
Description:
Part of the respected Tung Lok Group of restaurants, Club Chinois takes an East-meets-West approach to fine dining. Stylish décor combines dark wood, western style tableware, and contemporary Chinese art. The food, while firmly couched in Chinese tradition, has a definite Continental touch. Standout dishes on the a la carte menu include crispy Beijing duck skin with five-spiced foie gras, tea-smoked scallop and braised abalone with black truffle, and pan-fried fillet of cod with honey mustard dressing on fresh strawberries. Servings are on the small side most people order about four dishes. Numerous multi-course set menus and dim sum menus, too.

Cork Cellar Kitchen
(Restaurants - French)
168 Robinson Rd
Singapore 068912
65 6327 9169
Description:
A homage to the fermented grape, the emphasis at this restaurant is on wine and there's lots of the good stuff flowing here. Cork Cellar Kitchen is the latest addition to the Marmalade Group's expanding family, with the same commanding interiors and fine attention to detail as its sister establishments. Supplement your liquid dinner (or lunch) with a selection from the grazing menu, which features a range of tapas-style dishes ideal for sharing. The kitchen also pumps out excellent mains, including a particularly notable duck leg confit.

Infuzi
(Restaurants - French)
10 Biopolis Rd
Singapore 138670
65 6478 9091
Description:
Infuzi is known as much for its affordable corkage rates as its fine European cuisine. On Monday and Tuesday, in fact, there is no corkage fee at all; the rest of the week it's SGD20. Both a la carte and set menus are available, and might include options such as pan-fried foie gras with caramelized apple, confit of duck leg and baby spinach; carpaccio of hamachi (similar to tuna); seared prawns with shimeji mushroom risotto, confit of tomatoes and pesto; or steamed sea bass with parma ham. Definitely worth a try (especially on a Monday or Tuesday!).
